There is a sweet amount of people who gush over cute little joys in life. To name a few, the cute candy toppings, stuffed animals and how can we forget, kids! Yes, kids are the tiny dose of energy to bring a smile to your face.
And while we talk about kids, especially the cute ones, you cannot miss talking about the wonder half boy half deer from Sweet Tooth. Yes, the show has wrapped us all on its toes with the hybrid kid making us fall in love with him throughout the season.
The fantasy drama from Netflix, Sweet Tooth is set ten years after The Great Crumble, a horrific event in which a pandemic wiped out most of the world’s population, leaving behind only those who had been bitten by a hybrid baby.
In this post-apocalyptic world, the new rules are simple: no one can be alone, and everyone must feed on other people to survive. The only exception is for those who have been forced to live together in an orphanage called The Hive.
The story follows our hero named Gus as he navigates his way through this new world, trying to find a place for himself and protect those who are vulnerable to being consumed by others.

Season 2 Teaser Revealing Possibilities Ahead CGI
The recent trailer for season 2 of Sweet Tooth sheds light on their novel technique to avoid relying solely on CGI, which could potentially prevent a situation similar to what had happened with Sonic the Hedgehog.
The show cleverly juxtaposes its bleak world with a bright, lively color scheme and a cast of charming half-human, half-animal characters that don’t fall into the ‘uncanny valley’ of overly-realistic CGI.
The initial design of Sonic the Hedgehog in the film adaptation was hugely criticized and caused a huge uproar online. People were disgusted with how human-like the character was, with its teeth, fingers & narrow eyes.
Paying attention to negative criticism, the creators of Sonic were quick to make design changes to avoid the wild storm of memes. This incident was not the first instance when a CGI movie character had gone into an unfortunate “uncanny valley”.
Season 1 So Far:
Set a decade after the disastrous events that triggered the Great Crumble, Season One provides an insight into how society has adjusted to the Sick. Dr. Aditya Singh embarks on a journey to save his wife Rani, who is afflicted with the virus by searching for a cure.
Along his path, he meets an intriguing hybrid of half-deer and half-human called Gus as well as his father. Sweet Tooth is a great example of how to sidestep the uncanny valley problem.
Its characters look realistically designed and don’t rely on CGI effects at all. Copious amounts of prosthetics are used on child actors to give the characters an added sense of realism and authenticity.
One of the key highlights of the show is What’s even more remarkable is that Bobby, a hybrid of human and groundhog with only a few human traits, has been crafted using a puppet system with very minimal CGI.
What Can We Expect From Season 2?
After the conclusion of Season 1 of Sweet Tooth, an array of queries remained unanswered. Hopefully, these questions will be addressed when the second season airs.

Sweet Tooth season 1 raises a lot of questions, with the biggest one being about Gus’s mother, Birdie. To find out where she is, viewers accompany Gus during his journey as he meets Jepperd and eventually Bear – the leader of Sweet Tooth’s Animal Army.
When Bear looks for Birdie, he instead comes across Judy who tells him that Birdie had gone to Alaska to track down Gus and his caretaker Pubba. Fortunately, Bear finds a satellite phone which he uses to contact Birdie who is located in Alaska.
At the beginning of Sweet Tooth season 1, viewers get to see a flashback that reveals an unanswered mystery surrounding Jepperd and his family.
His unfortunate wife went into labor as the pandemic was starting, giving birth to a child that was a part-goat, part-boy hybrid. This is what pushed Jepperd on his journey across post-apocalyptic America.
In the finale of Season 1, viewers were left with Dr. Singh in an incredibly difficult situation – being held captive by the Last Men and tasked with creating a cure for the H5G9 virus. He was forced to either conduct experiments on reluctant hybrids or suffer from the grim repercussions of his captors.
